Annual Round Dance
Annual Round Dance – November 7, 2025
The Annual Round Dance at the Wampum Learning Lodge has grown to become one of the largest Indigenous community engagement events hosted by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives. Each year, it brings together hundreds of students, faculty, staff, families, and local community members in a powerful celebration of culture and connection.
A Round Dance is a traditional Anishinaabe and Cree winter ceremony involving participants joining hands in a circle to dance, sing, and celebrate life, community, and the spirit of ancestors. Held during the colder months, these gatherings promote healing, remembrance, and unity through shared songs, stories, food, and drumming (which symbolizes the heartbeat of the community).
This year, the annual Round Dance will be happening on the Friday of the first full week of November.
